OVERVIEW:

The PMO (Project Management Office) Practice Analyst is a key role providing support for developing and implementing PMO methodologies and tools across the organization using a consistent and proven methodology to ensure adoption and adherence to PMO processes.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

PMO Governance Structure:

  • Assist the PMO leaders with the evolution of the PMO methodologies and governance frameworks incorporating methods, standards, processes, templates, tools and techniques, dashboards and KPIs required to manage programs and projects.
  • Continue to evolve the portfolio management capabilities, introducing resource capacity planning, and benefit realization, amongst other opportunities.
  • Maintain the PMO Roadmap, seeking input from the PMO leaders.
  • Assist the PMO leadership with the integration of project processes with other practice areas.
  • Assist the PMO leadership with the selection and implementation of PMO software to support PMO methodologies.
  • Continuously monitor "best practices" to identify opportunities to improve PMO processes.
  • Develop, deliver, and maintain all PMO training / education materials.

PMO Support:

  • Oversees the implementation and configuration of PMO practice software to support PMO methodologies.
  • Perform project data analysis to identify process improvement opportunities or anomalies.
  • Respond to requests for data analysis from stakeholders including Finance and Internal Audit.
  • Maintain PMO performance metrics.
  • Provide support and monitor incoming trouble tickets and ensure timely resolution.
  • Provide day to day reviews of the PMO tool vendor work requests.
  • Provide support and backup on PMO administrative tasks.
  • Create and maintain the data in the portfolio management solution.

WHAT YOU WILL HAVE:

  • A bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science or related technical discipline.
  • Minimum 5 or more years working in a Project Management Office rolling out standards, processes, and tools.
  • Expert-level knowledge and experience implementing Project and Portfolio methodologies, techniques, processes, and approaches.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with business partners, vendors, and IT teams to achieve results.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills including facilitation, negotiation and problem resolution skills.
  • Expert-level knowledge and experience using MS Project, MS Office and Visio.
  • Ability to mentor, coach and effectively transfer expertise to others.
