OVERVIEW:

Alberta Blue Cross® has an immediate opening for an enthusiastic, team-oriented, customer-focused Government Business Development Lead to join our team. Reporting to the Manager of Business Development, this position plays a pivotal role in collaborating with public healthcare system clients to identify needs and develop customized and innovative solutions and recommendations related to new programs and services. The Government Business Development Lead will liaise with a broad cross-section of departments within Alberta Blue Cross® to review service levels and ensure we are delivering an exceptional customer experience.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Build networks and maintain strong relationships with public healthcare clients such as Alberta Health Services and Primary Care Networks to identity needs and requirements
  • Lead and/or support projects and initiatives including implementing new programs and services
  • Liaise with a broad cross sector of departments within Alberta Blue Cross® to coordinate overall customer experience
  • Provide leadership to internal and external work groups and project teams
    Act as an expert resource to internal and external clients on government related strategies
  • Research, prepare and deliver presentations, proposals and reports

WHAT YOU WILL HAVE:

  • An undergraduate degree in business or a health-related field
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • Customer-focused to deliver and ensure an exceptional customer experience
  • A self-starter with the ability to work independently, while being able to work effectively in a supportive and dynamic team environment
  • Superior critical thinking skills with the ability to take an analytical and innovative approach to problem solving
  • Exceptional verbal communication skills with proven experience in the delivery and development of presentations
  • Excellent written communication skills with experience writing reports, briefing notes and proposals
  • Skilled with Word, Excel, Visio, and other related software
  • Demonstrated project management skills
  • Ability to deal with a fast pace environment that requires successful management of customer expectations
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of our clients and prospects, market, competition and economic factors, alongside a robust understanding of key business issues and trends.
  • Identify and respond to changes in the business environment, support action plans to address customer issues and priorities.
  • Be visible, forging personal credibility and increased Alberta Blue Cross brand awareness & presence.
  • Ability to be a success in a dynamic environment arising from diverse responsibilities, intricate processes, and shifting accountabilities by applying effective prioritization, planning, involvement, and teamwork.
