OVERVIEW:

Working in a flexible work style arrangement, The Account Renewal Specialist is responsible for ensuring the long-term retention of group clients for Alberta Blue Cross through the preparation and delivery of policy renewals and plan amendments. The Account Renewal Specialist will be responsible for a diverse book of business that ranges from 10 lives up to 999 lives. Under the direction of the Sales Manager, the Account Renewal Specialist analyzes, prepares, delivers and negotiates group policy renewals with plan advisors and group clients with the goal of achieving the retention of the policy on a mutually beneficial and viable basis.  As well, the Account Renewal Specialist aids plan sponsors seeking plan alternates and enhancements in their coverage.  The Account Renewal Specialist will be expected to proactively up-sell products and services to plan sponsors all while delivering an overall excellent customer experience.  

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Prepare, deliver and negotiate policy renewals with plan advisors and plan sponsors.
  • Liaise between group sales, group underwriting and other internal areas.
  • Provide plan alternatives, reports and pricing to plan advisors and plan sponsors.
  • Up-sell additional benefits and services.
  • Co-ordinate and collaborate with the account executive, business development.
  • Add, delete and make changes to the plan advisor site

WHAT YOU WILL HAVE:

  • Must possess a strong comprehension of group benefits underwriting and principles of group   insurance.
  • Full life and accident & sickness licensing is desired and will be mandatory prior to commencement of the position.
  • Must possess strong interpersonal skills, along with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be self-motivated and maintain a positive attitude.
  • Strong analytical ability, with a commitment to accuracy and timeliness.
  • Will have a strong knowledge of Alberta blue cross benefit plans, policies and procedures.
  • Must be able to work independently and deal effectively with the public, peers, superiors and co-workers.
