OVERVIEW:

Reporting to the Team Manager of DCM, the Technical Analyst will provide desktop support to the Alberta Blue Cross employees and contractors. A high level of service quality is expected, which involves both relationship- building and technical skills.
  
WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Dispatched by the Service Desk to resolve hardware and/or software desktop incidents.
  • Collaboration with other Infrastructure & Operations (I&O) employees on the resolution of more involved incidents.
  • Support devices including PC’s, monitors, printers, scanners, laptops, smart phones and other smart devices.
  • Preparation of desktop hardware for deployment and the installation and maintenance of software on desktops.
  • Setting up new users and installing software packages from SCCM.
  • Working with VDI’s and supporting our mobile and work from home users.
  • Unboxing devices and updating inventory.
  • Moving customers computer equipment from desk to desk.
  • Develop and implement contingency, backup, fail-over, and recovery measures related to the database operating environment.
  • Provide production on-call support (24x7) on a rotation basis.

WHAT YOU WILL HAVE:

  • A minimum of two year’s previous experience is required.
  • Must be customer oriented, responsive, and patient to deal with customers of varying technical abilities.
  • Must have strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work through problems to find solutions.
  • Must be able to work effectively under pressure.
  • Must be self-motivated.
  • Must be able to follow existing processes and procedures.
  • Must work well in a team-oriented environment.
  • Familiarity with Windows 10, MS Office, SCCM and Active Directory.
