OVERVIEW:

The Government Health Benefits team is responsible for leading benefit plan management with our government plan sponsors. This position will report to and work closely with the Government Health Benefits Director. The manager will  lead a diverse and high-performing team with expertise in pharmaceutical policy, benefit plan design and health economics. A strong foundation of understanding in health benefits plans and the demonstrated ability to facilitate innovation will enable the successful delivery of industry leading plan management features. This position offers the opportunity to establish a network of relationships with government staff and play an integral role in supporting government plan sponsors.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Manage the development of new, innovative proposals for benefit plan management of government sponsored plans.
  • Oversee the drug review process for Alberta Government sponsored plans.
  • Lead a team with clinical and technical expertise in health benefit plans.
  • Collaborate with a variety of internal stakeholder teams to develop a deep understanding of Alberta Blue Cross plan management capabilities.
  • Seek opportunities to improve the customer experience for plan members.
  • Develop strong rapport and relationships with government staff.

WHAT YOU WILL HAVE:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in pharmacy is required
  • A proven track record in leadership roles.
  • Experience leading a team to move toward a common vision.
  • Ability to assess challenges and drive innovative solutions.
  • Experience in health benefit plan management. 
    Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the desire for continuous learning.
  • Demonstrated commitment to quality customer service.
  • Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-directed with a strong sense of accountability and resourcefulness. 
    Proficient with the use of Microsoft Office products such as MS Access and MS Excel.
