OVERVIEW:

Working in a flexible work style and team environment, the Team Manager is responsible for managing the people and the processes to deliver exceptional service to our customers – both internal and external.  This position oversees enrolments, revisions, issues and exceptions for our group clients.  The Team Manager will also serve as a liaison between the Group Enrolment/Member Self-Enrolment teams and representatives from other areas on various projects and high priority enrolments.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Manages the day-to-day activities and provides direction and support to the Group Enrolment/Member Self-Enrolment teams.      This involves ensuring the effective utilization of both staff and systems.
  • Continuously identifies enhancements to systems and works with Business Support to document, prioritize, and implement those enhancements.
  • Under the direction of the Manager, works closely with project teams to identify and manage the impact of system changes on business processes and resourcing.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external customers and peers.
  • Coordinates the workload with team members to meet the needs and expectations of our internal and external customers within our standard turnaround.
  • Provides leadership to staff to ensure high quality results, acceptable productivity levels and positive staff morale.
  • Conducts regularly scheduled performance reviews, providing feedback and facilitating professional growth.
  • Manages performance issues by providing guidance and suggestions for improvement when necessary.
  • Ensures continuous communication with the team by sharing any changes to policies and procedures.
  • Acts in the absence of the Manager to perform duties and responsibilities as they apply to Group Enrolment and Member Self-Enrolment.

WHAT YOU WILL HAVE:

  • A post secondary degree, diploma or prior experience would be an asset.
  • Project Management experience would be an asset.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Alberta Blue Cross plans, benefits, contracts, systems, and processes and/or equivalent from the Benefit Insurance industry.
  • Leadership ability in a team manager role would be a definite asset.
  • Demonstrated commitment to excellent customer service.
  • Requires strengths in the area of flexibility, innovation, and independence.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team with a high level of emotional intelligence.
  • Demonstrated planning and organizational skills.
